To contact the Earth Restoration Project:
At the quiet launch of this project in October 2007, its conceptual mastermind, Ray Wheeler, sits alone in his basement, designing web pages and dreaming up a working environment that will be suitable, at the very least, for him.
It is a moment comparable to the one just after a laser-light show artist steps into the control booth and switches on a laser--then, lost in thought, reaches for a cup of coffee--while the single point of light momentarily rests still on the screen.
There is no telling how much fractal complexity may be drawn forth by the movement of a single point of light, at the will of one imaginative human mind, across the darkness. We shall see.
Fortunately, as of the launch of this web site, there are two minds in the control booth and two laser beams on. With me in spirit at this moment of inception, is the restless genius and polymath Richard Lance Christie, who has generously offered his master-work-in-progress, a book-length plan for the conversion, in logical, feasible steps, using existing proven technology, of America and the world to an ecologically "sustainable" economy and a restored environment.
We both cautiously hope that in future weeks, months, and years, there will be dozens, perhaps even hundreds or thousands of participants in the "project" that we envision, which is, after all, the Great Work of the 21st Century.
We hope eventually to recruit a large number of empowered autonomous individuals--and organizations--to assist in this massive experiment in collaborative design.
